How long does it take to install OS X on an iMac 27?

I was installing OS X on my iMac 27 2013 version, and everything was fine until I got to The install OS X screen. The progress blue bar is still showing activity but it has been a couple of hours stuck on this screen

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If you were upgrading a previous version of OS X ti would typically take about an hour. If you had erased the hard drive and did a new installation, then it would take about 30 minutes. If your progress bar is still moving, then there must be an issue with the hard drive. Either you can try reinstalling or you can do a new install using Network Recovery.

I don't know what version of OS X you had nor what version of are trying to install, but your profile says you use Snow Leopard on your iMac. That's not possible on a 2013 iMac model.
