App to forward calls to voice mail ?

Looking for an app that will forward straight to voice mail but only if the caller is not in my contacts list. Any ideas ?

You always have that option. Double tap the power button. The call will go directly to voicemail.

I agree it would be nice to have more features in DND. And, over time, Apple has added more. It still doesn't offer everything I want but, at least I can now set it so that certain contacts can always text me, even if DND is on.

Been facing this annoying problem and had 'on my own' adopted your strategy of being deaf to all callers not on my contacts list during the daytime and allowing only my beloved 'favorites' the privilege of disturbing me whenever they have the need. I wish Apple will help us with better features and options under Do not disturb function. For instance they can incorporate additional scheduled timings for the DND mode so that we folks can simply do our settings [contacts only during specified day timings and favorites only at specified night timings]. Also, while the DND mode is on, the option of sending incoming calls directly to the voicemail box should also be given. This way, Apple will become tastier and more attractive!

Thanks for your reply. My wording has been imperfect. What I meant that even without the need of doing a double tap of the power button the call directly goes to the voicemail inbox. This saves one from the 'botheration' of looking up at the caller, wondering whether it is [in my case] a patient seeking my services or just another pesky telemarketer trying to sell me rocks from the Mars!

During periods of rest, one can then go through the voicemail and respond accordingly.

Yes, I should try to give this feedback to Apple.

That's exactly what DND does. If DND is enabled, the calls will automatically go to voicemail.

Hello again! After a few hiccups I have been finally been able to have voicemail activated by my Vodaphone carrier. However I find that when I put on the DND mode on, the incoming call is not being diverted to my voicemail but the caller is informed that 'the customer you are calling is busy, please try again after some time'! BTW, I reside in India. Another issue I have is this: visual voicemail in not working on my new iPhone SE. I have raised this matter in a separate thread but have received no response.

Hope you can guide me.

Did. Said that they do not support visual mail. Also that they could do nothing about the diversion of calls that cannot clear the DND filter to the voicemail. Had to stop the voicemail service as it cannot serve my purpose.

Wish Apple's developers can come up with DND with additional features such as sending an [customisable] message to those who have called but not permitted to 'disturb' such as this: 'Please message me as to the purpose of your call...'.

Submit your feedback to Apple. Apple can't do much about the fact you're using the phone on an unsupported carrier, though.

The Do Not Disturb would not work the way I need. Calls from unknown numbers can be from people I want to talk to - e.g. a doctor's office, etc - or from telemarketers. If they went to voice mail I could later listen and add the relevant ones to my contacts list.

You can configure DND so that it allows people who are in your contacts to always ring through. Everyone else goes to voicemail. That sounds like what you're asking for. How is it not? Perhaps I'm missing something?
