All My Files in Finder is not showing all my files. It is only showing four of them. What should I be looking for to correct this?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
Thanks for the advice. Sadly, I'm more of a plug-and-play guy so I don't know how to rebuild the index, and any reference material I've been able to get does not show how the index is created, let alone rebuilt.
And in using the search bar I can only search on "This Mac", no indication that indexing is in progress.
Where can i get the process to rebuild?

Thank you both, I was unsuccessful.
I followed the instructions to the letter, once by clicking the ➕ key - didn't work and once by dragging and dropping - It wiped out two indexes from the finder Sidebar: ***'s Mac (14) and then the main hard drive.
PS: I was able to put the main drive back into the sidebar by dragging it from the desktop.
Has Spotlight finished indexing already?

Try to search in Spotlight.
Right now, nothing is showing in All My Files.
Did 3 searches in spotlight. Under All My Files only iTunes files were accessed and displayed whereas under This Mac everything (I would presume) was displayed.
it's not the result I was expecting like the spinning wheel, but maybe something is happening.
Okay, we're back at showing only four files in All My Files. And the spotlight search remains unchanged.
What exactly happens when you try to search Spotlight? Nothing?
Apologies for the long delay . . . Spotlight finds things just fine, but using the box in the top right corner the Spotlight box does not open (I have to click >command-space< for that, and it works only on "This Mac".
Perhaps my machine is too old to take advantage of this.
