What does it mean when my MacBook Pro has 3 successive tones, a 5 second pause (repeating) indicates RAM does not pass a data integrity check?

i notice my laptop has been making this beeping noise for every five second. I tried to turn it off and turn it back on but it keeps making the same beeps. I asked help earlier but I don't know what RAM is and what it means that it indicates that RAM does not process its data. I am confused and concerned about my computer. I don't want to lose any memory or information that I have on that laptop. Please respond to this discussion. I need to know how to make my laptop work normally without having to go buy a new computer.
