I purchased am app then developers changed it to something else

I Purchased a game called Scramble - my favorite game. The developers at Zynga decided to change it to Word Streak and its horrible! It's just frozen most of the time.

My question is - can a developer sell an app then change it to something else? It's like it was stolen.

Thanks for any reply.

Hello Flashkaz,

Software isn't like other products. It is virtual. You aren't actually purchasing anything. All you are doing is licensing the right to make a copy of the software. That's why they call it a "license agreement". For the most part, there is no consumer protection that applies because there is no consumer. You are entering into a contract and you are bound by an terms of that contract unless they are found to be illegal in some way.

As etrosoft points out, the vendor is well within its rights to do that. It is also something you likely agreed to when you purchased the software, whether or not you actually read the terms. You may not see it as fair - and I am not without sympathy - but it is the reality.

As previously suggested, contact Apple Support. You may get some satisfaction via that avenue (or you may not).
