I am trying to create a book for a birthday gift but can't remember how to take a photo and name the photo

Yes I know. The instructions are in the link I provided. You just have to "customize" the instructions to your preference.

Press Command (⌘)-Shift-4. You'll see that your cursor changes to a crosshair pointer.
Move the crosshair pointer to where you want to start the screenshot.
Drag to select an area. In you case a face. To adjust the area, hold Shift, Option, or the Space bar while you drag.
