Mac Yosemite won't stay connected to Mac Mini Bluetooth

I have a first generation 1 core intel mac mini that can only upgrade to 10.6.8 and my desktop is Yosemite. The devices are paired, but they won't stay connected even though they are next to each other. I'm trying to use the mini simply to transfer photos to it for my art studio. I can do it long hand with a flash drive, but was trying to be able to move new photos when I upload them.

Question1... is there a general problem with these older devices and newer OS's?

2. Is there a better /easier way to network them on the wireless network in my home? The mini OS is too old for iCloud and the like.

TIA,

Jeff

Good Afternoon Jefferis,

One way to share photos between your two computers is to have the images stored on a portable external drive. That way, you can attach the drive to any Mac computer and have access to the files.

If your mac mini has a firewire port you cans share files with your iMac using target disk mode. Here's how:

Another thing you can try is File Sharing between your two Macs:
