I need to wipe and restore an imac to sell that is running snow leopard. i do not ahve the physical disc and Command R is not working

You cannot. Click here, phone Apple, and order replacement original disks, or if the computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.4.4 through 10.6.2, buy a retail Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.
There is no recovery partition on 10.6.8 or earlier.
