My IPod is a IPod Classic 30gb and it shows up on my computer as a Removable Disc and under Device Manager it is showing up as Apple Ipod USB Device under Disk Drives and i know it is suppose to be under Universal Serial Bus Controllers but it does not show up. Please help me.

Oh and please note that my ipod classic is a 5th gen
The 5th gen has different menus, but some of the troubleshooting steps are the same.
The DFU restore method is given in my link above. It is a lower level version of the restore process that should release those 4 pending sectors. If any critical data is stored in them the device will have trouble connecting to iTunes.
