How do I find the username and password of my Time Capsule without resetting it?

I'm trying to Port Forward my router, however, I need the router's username and password to do that. I can't figure out the username and password and do not want to reset it back to get the default username and password.

Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utilty

Click on the picture of the Time Capsule, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears

The name of the Time Capsule is the "user name"

Now click the Base Station menu.......at the uppermost top of the screen.....up where the File, Window, Edit and Help menus are located

Click Show Passwords

The Base Station Password is the Time Capsule "password"

Are you connected by ethernet??

Do a soft reset...

Resetting an AirPort base station FAQ - Apple Support

Press the reset button for 1-2 sec only.. no more or you might trip it into hardware reset..

With soft reset all passwords are set to default for 5min.. wireless will be password free and the admin password is public.

You can then use the passwords show as per Bob's post..

Then just wait for 5min and it will all revert to passwords you have set..

Remember this.. all security on the Airport routers is illusionary.. if anyone has physical access..

Be sure ethernet is much easier than wireless though.. and if you run Yosemite.. heaven help you.

When I type in my IP Address to get to the router configuration page, The information doesn't work.

If you review my post above, you will see that I did not ask you to type in an IP Address to get to the router configuration page.

I asked you to open AirPort Utility, click on the picture of the Time Capsule, and click Edit in the smaller window.

Here, I am assuming that you are not using an AirPort Utility version that is more than 3 years old. If you are, then instead of clicking on Edit, you would click on Manual Setup.

The Time Capsule does not have a user name. It has a Base Station device name. You have the information on how to find that.

The only other name that the Time Capsule might have is the name of the wireless network that the Time Capsule sends out. You likely already know the name of the Time Caspule wireless and the password, but If not.......the name of the wireless network and password will be displayed when you click on Show Passwords.
