Q: ethernet cable connect yosemite iMac2011

Hi,

i've got a problem with the wired ethernet on my IMac 2011.

i always got the message - Cable not connected. But the Port is OK. The Cable is OK (test with another PC)

My OS is Yosemite 10.10.3

.

I tried to change the environment - no success.

Has anybody a solution about this problem?

As a test...

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

My IMac is connected to a "FritzBox" router.
Now my Mac work about WLAN. But i wonder, why the cable connect is not working.
In some Newsforums i got the information, that it could be the reason of Yosemite.
The same cable on the same router work with another PC properly.

It easily could be Yosemite,but Ethernet works here to different Router/Modem in Yosemite, can you connect the cable directly to a PC & see if you get a 169.258.x.y IP?

yes i did. On my normal PC i got an IP Adress. Same cable, same router only another PC

Couple of long shots...

Turn off IPv6:
System Preferences » Network » Ethernet »Advanced? TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6
Reboot.

Delete the Ethernet interface in Network, reboot, add Ethernet back in.

Unfortunately no success.
I also cleaned the hardware connector - no way.
I can't believe that the hardware port is broken. The port is a member of the logic board.
