Q: I miss PHOTOSTREAM! My photos are no longer syncing as before.

I'm running OSX 10.10.3 on my Mac and iOS 8.3 on my iPhone 5s.

My photos from my 5s DO sync to my iPad but are no longer syncing to my Mac desktop. And when I log into iCloud the new photos are not there and it just does endless updating with no apparent changes to the library.

Any ideas how to fix this?

And why is there both iCloud Photo Library and Photostream on my iPhone? I thought the first was supposed to replace the second.

Thanks for your help.

Do you have "My Photo Stream" enabled in Photos preferences > iCloud on the Mac? If not, it will not display any photos streamed from your other devices.

You may find reviewing the info in My Photo Stream FAQ useful for answering some of your questions, for instance the "When do photos upload to My Photo Stream?" section -- note that photos from your iPhone will only upload to the stream after you leave the Camera app & connect it to WiFi.
