How Do I Create New Folder in the Folder I Want???

It cannot be that difficult, why is it that I cannot create a new folder inside the exact folder that I want? Even if the folder is highlighted (I currently have it open), if I try create a New Folder, my Mac (Finder) puts the new folder someplace else and then I have to go searching for it. There must be an easier way? Does anyone know how to create a new folder in the exact place that I want simply by "right-clicking" the folder? Please help. -Mark

Do you mean that if you create a new folder in a folder which is open an active the folder is created in the enclosing folder? This is not my experience:

User uploaded file

But in this demo, if you expand 'untitled folder' then create a new folder, it will correctly be created within 'PIANISTS':

User uploaded file

To create it within the expanded 'untitled folder' you have to double-click that folder to open it.

Eric Root,

Yes, that's correct... When I am in Finder, I select a specific folder where I want to create a new sub-folder, I select the folder and click New Folder. Instead of putting the new folder into the selected folder, Finder puts the new folder into another different folder and I have to search for the new folder.

I should be able to just right-click a folder to create a new sub-folder in that selected folder.
