How do I delete all signs of Pandora App from iTunes (& iCloud?)

My Pandora App keeps freezing. I've already been through one round of troubleshooting with her that did not work. Now, after deleting it off my iPhone (this part was easy) now she wants to me to delete any remnants of it off iTunes (& iCloud?) through using my computer - which is a brand new Mac Book Pro with the latest iTunes & iCloud apps on it. I cannot figure out how to do this. Help!

(My searches so far have uncovered a lot of other people that are unable to do this on the newest iTunes too.)

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3, null

If you want to permanently delete them from your account (as if you never had purchased them) do the following: Open iTunes on your Computer you synced the iPad with (or any other computer authorized with the Apple ID you bought the apps with). Got to the Option "Apps" (left hand side, pretty much at the top of the list), then find the app(s) you want to delete, right-click on them and choose delete. Hope this helps. The next time you sync your other devices with your iTunes Library (if you have an other device e.g. iPad) the apps will be permanently deleted from them, too. Hope this helps.

If you want to just delete them from your device (say iPad/iPhone): Sync your devices with your iTunes LIbrary, select them in the left hand side options bar (under devices...you'll see it), then you will be presented with a summary page of that device. Select Apps (from the options menu at the top of the page) and unselect the App(s) you want to delete from your device. Sync your device again, and you're done.

Hope this helps.

Hi BooMonster,

I think we're getting closer, but not quite there.

I have no list on the left side of my iTunes. Are you on the latest iTunes 12.1? I've read several posts similar to mine, and there seems to be a common theme that these people also can't get this list that everyone is speaking about.

I can click on the Apps symbol at the top left side of the iTunes screen (there are several symbols to select here, but they are side by side in the grey part of the screen. Then I can select Purchased at the bottom right of the screen. This brings up a whole screen of large icons of the apps I have purchased. I'm then able to select iPhone or iPad. However, I can do nothing with these icons (such as delete) other than reload the ones that have been deleted off the device.

How do I get the list down the left side? I think that is the secret to this all.

Hi BooMonster,

New summary of attempts....

The Pandora was deleted from my iPhone & iPad weeks ago.

Today - I physically connected my iPhone to my Mac for the first time ever. I downloaded all the iPhone Apps to iTunes. I then synced my iPhone to iTunes on the Mac. I can now view the Apps on my iPhone & iPad in iTunes as you described. Pandora is not there under "My Apps", "My iPhone Apps" or "My iPad Apps". I also only see currently installed Apps in these windows. No uninstalled Apps appear at all.

I then went to System Preferences & deleted the Backups for the iPhone & iPad.

According to the instructions from the Pandora Support Person, I should now be able to download a new/fresh copy of Pandora onto my iPhone. I use my iPhone to open Apps Store and view the Pandora App. It still has the "cloud symbol" on it, indicating that this not a fresh version of the App, but is the same copy I had freezing problems with.

Note - While in iTunes, I select App Store at the the top of the screen, then there are a few choices down lower right, including "purchased". If I select that I am able to view all Apps I ever purchased, as well as Pandora w/ the cloud symbol, yet I cannot touch/edit any of the Apps (i.e., all are read-only/view-only), so I cannot delete the Pandora App from there.

Any new ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

No, that's not what the cloud symbol means. Apps are never stored in your iCloud storage. The cloud symbol means that, at some point in the past, you have authorized the download of that app to a device with the Apple ID that you're logged in to the App Store with. Downloading the app from the App Store ALWAYS downloads a fresh copy.

Hi Meg,

Thank you for the advice & clarification. Are you sure? Each time I download a new Pandora, it freezes up after a few days. The Pandora Support Rep says that it's because I was reloading the "identical copy." She said the only way to get a "new" copy is to delete it out of iTunes, then get a fresh copy.

If you are right, then I've wasted several weeks, and about another 1/2 dozen people who got frustrated trying to explain to me how to delete it out of iTunes also do not know what they are talking about.

Do you have any advice on what to do with my actual problem of the freezing Pandora App?

Thanks.

Yes, i'm quite sure. The Pandora rep sounds as if they don't know what they're talking about. I think what people are trying to explain to you is how to hide Pandora in Purchases. It is not possible to delete something from your account as if you had never purchased it.

I have no problems with Pandora on my phone. So, I know it's possible for it work properly.

The troubleshooting basics are restart, reset, restore from a back up, restore as new.

One thing to check before running that list is how much free space you have on your device. If you don't have very much, Pandora could be attempting to cached some data and could be running out of room. When you delete the app, it deletes all the data and frees the space. So, when you download it again, it works until it runs out of room again. I'm just guessing here but it's worth looking at.
