I have windows 7. whenever i connect my iphone to itunes it displays an error message that an iphone has been detected but it could not be identified properly. please reconnect the phone. I have tried to disconnect and connect several times, still it displays the same. somebody please help.

I have tried all of these solutions but none helped.
My phone's current condition is as follows:
Whenever I connect my phone to the computer, the PC recognizes it as a USB device. however, the itunes recognizes it very late and once it recognizes a translucent icon of iphone appears after this the itunes hangs and does not work till I restart my PC. please help.
