Exit newsstand?

Well, I don't know what the "story" is, but try resetting your device if you cannot double-click the Home key and slide up on the Newsstand thumbnail to close it: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays, the reset is complete, and you should be able to proceed.

The Newsstand is actually a folder with the magazines being the apps.To exit Newsstand simply tap the home button.
