    Hello raspberryaddiction,

It sounds like you are not getting notifications from the Mail app on your Apple Watch even though you checked the settings on the watch, and repaired it to your phone. Take a look at the Apple Watch app on your phone to customize the Mail notification settings there. If you have your phone set to not show any notifications, and the Apple Watch app is set to Mirrored that would explain why youre not getting them on youre watch:

About Notifications on your Apple Watch

By default, your Apple Watch notifications are set up to mirror your iPhone settings. For example, you might set your iPhone Mail app notifications to notify you only of VIP emails. If your watch notifications are mirroring your iPhone, you'll only get VIP email notifications on your Apple Watch.

If you prefer, you can also customize the notifications on your Apple Watch:

    1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap My Watch > Notifications.
    2. Choose an app by tapping it.
    3. If you want the app's notification settings to mirror settings on your iPhone, tap Mirror my iPhone. If you want to use different notification settings just for your Apple Watch, tap Custom.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the very best,

    Sterling

There is a bug. The only way to get email notifications is to turn OFF writst detection. However this will remove your credit card. But it's the only fix I've found.

Please report this bug to Apple.

Had the same problem and turning of wrist detection didn't do the trick for me. What did work is turning on the "Show on lock screen" slider in your notifications settings.

It's the third slider in above screenshot.
