Q: I have completed the back up from IPhone 3 to the Icloud yesterday and again today but none of my pictures are there and my contacts are not updating Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

A:

An iPhone backup to iCloud does not result in photos or contacts that are viewable by logging in to icloud.com. The only thing you can do with an iCloud backup is use to for a complete restore on an iOS device.

You can sync Contacts to iCloud and have them viewable at iCloud.com by turning on the appropriate setting on the phone. With iOS 8 that is at Settings > iCloud > Contacts and I believe is in the same place with iOS 7. iCloud Photo Library require iOS 8.3.
