My Macbook is not detecting my camera. I installed the powershot program so I can download pics from my camera but when I plug the camera in and click on the camera icon I get a message stating No Camera Was Found. Why would that be?

Instead of using the Powershot program, import content from your camera using the Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
