deleting photos from iphone after syncing

iTunes: 12.1.2.27

Phone: 4s

All my computer pics are on my phone. I want them off, but there is no trash icon to remove the pics, and after deleting from iphoto on my computer, the pics stay on the phone.

I've gone through the forums, and since every person has a different version of every device and operating system, I'm spending my day babysitting the ridiculous issue of deleting pictures.

If anyone has some advice, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

If you placed the photos onto the phone by using iTunes sync, you will need to use iTunes to remove them. The following instructions are from Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support

Note that if the photos are no longer on your computer, you may need to use the method discussed after step 4 below. Click on that link for instructions.

Delete synced photos

  1. In iTunes, locate and click on your device.
  2. Click Photos.
  3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
  4. Click Apply.

Learn how to delete photos and video synced from iTunes when you can't access the originals.
