How do I make the font size bigger on my macbook air?

I have been having trouble reading things online such as Facebook posts, articles, etc. I found that the font size is too small for me to read and I have looked through my system preferences and can't seem to find any way to change the font size. I really need to be able to change the font size for online use mainly. It would be great if it is possible for me to change the font size on everything else as well.

MacBook Air, iOS 8.3, Also downloaded Yosemite

Open Accessibility preferences. Click on the Zoom option. Enable it so you can use it to help reading easier. Usually applications have options for changing font sizes in their preferences. The only way to change it universally is to use Displays preferences to reduce the screen resolution which will make everything larger.
