Strange hole in iPad front face

Dear,

I observe a few weeks ago a strange hole behing the glass of my iPad Air2. At 3cm on the left side of the front camera, a kind of hole appears in the black rectangle. It's not a damage to the glass nor a dust glue to it. I looks like a hole in the black think which is located behing the glass.

Is it something normal (some kind of sensor I would have miss before) or some defect? Should I ask window replacement?

I look in a few shop on other iPad but I was only able to look at iPad Air 2 in white..

I attached a picture to be more clear. In the center of the screen, the camera is clearly visible.

On the left side of the camera, another hole is present. The picture is far from being good. It's actually like 1mm of diameter so much smaller than the camera.

Is it the position of the light sensor? I look like a dust but it's inside...

Yup. Ambient Light Sensor. If it where a white iPad, would be even more concealed.

Play with it. Set up Auto Brightness in Settings / Display & Brightness, then flash a bright flashlight on it and watch the screen try to auto adjust.

I think you turned on Assistive Touch by accident. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility and see if Assistive Touch is turned on. If it is, switch it off. The Assistive Touch button will disappear.

Being an iPad, there are two things facing forward, the camera and the ambient light sensor. It takes care of auto adjusting the screen brightness, if you so desire.

Were it an iPhone, there's a third hole in there: the "ear sensor" that takes care of turning off the screen when calling to avoid "cheek dialing".

There are ambient light sensors (I think that there are two on the iPad Air 2, one either side of the front camera), used for auto-brightness (Settings > Display & Brightness)
