I can't receive or make calls with FaceTime.

Hello!

I can't receive or make calls with FaceTime.

The person knows that I am calling, but when he/she picks up, the connection is lost. FYI I have a Mac OS X 10.7.5. I bought it second hand to my brother. I had to install FaceTime. It is activated. I have the right email address, and I am trying to call a person who regularly uses Facetime. I have a good internet connection. I am not calling from work. I live in Belgium.
