Q: My iPod is COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE.
My iPod won't turn on, thus preventing it from being turned off; it won't charge; and my computer can't even see it when it's plugged-in, and I know the cord works because I tested it with my brother's iPod. Here are the details:
- Gen 5 iPod, just under two years old.
- 32 GB; other stats I would provide if I could turn it on (but then I wouldn't be writing this).
- Uses iOS 7.<something> (the latest one as of 6/21/15).
I suspect that some sort of impact my iPod had is responsible for its condition. I'm fairly certain it had bang or two while I was out berry-picking before I noticed that my iPod wasn't working. That would have been from a water bottle bumping into my iPod while it was in my pocket. Since I attach my (metal) water bottle to one of my belt loops, it can move around and bump things in my pocket.
Any ideas on how fix this?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
