Q: iphone6 won't back up, receiving msg "because phone is disconnected" when it not

IMy iPhone will no longer back up when connecting to PC. iTunes recognizes iPhone 6 (IOS8.3), during back-up the program stops stating" iTunes could not back up the iPhone because the iPhone disconnected"

Unfortunately the iPhone is still connected and charging when receiving this message.

How can I resolve and back-up iPhone successfully?

Hello Jeff,

I followed the instructions on the link(s) provided, and I still have the problem."could not back up becuase the iPhone is disconnected". But, the iPhone is still charging after receiving the message.

I would next try the suggestions in the following article:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
If you continue to have the same issue, I would suggest another one of Apple's support resources, possibly calling the support line for your area- https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your assistance, but it didn't resolve my problem. My Windows based PC recognizes my iphone, and itunes, and will chrge my device. The problem is itunes will not complete the back-up process. I contiune to receive the message, "" iTunes could not back up the iPhone because the iPhone disconnected". The my Outlook calendar will update, but back-up is not complete.

I'll try to contact tech support as suggested.

Dylan, I don't know if your were able to solve your problem, but this is what worked for me following someone else's directions. Two phone calls to Apple Support and going through many steps with them - including re-installing the operating system - did not work.

So, do this... Put your iPhone into Airplane Mode and reboot it. Plug your iPhone into your computer and sync with iTunes. It should now work fine.

Why this is the case is beyond me, but it solved the issue for me. Good luck!
