Q: Can I charge the new macbook pro and simultaneously use the USB-C connection for data?

In other words, is there some sort of extra-powered hub that can provide power for the macbook to charge and still allow usb data connections?

You're in the wrong forum... all Macbook Pro's are on the Magsafe connector, not USB-C.

Macbook is here - MacBook

It's still in development but Anker is working on USB-C chargers and docking stations.
