Jun 22, 2015 8:11 PM in response to PenCollectorby babowa,So you have checked Finder > View > Show View Options and set the option to sort to 'none'?

Jun 23, 2015 3:52 PM in response to babowaby PenCollector,Yes this is correct. The sorting only happens at random times (days, weeks inbetween events). Its not continuous or even has a pattern.
As i mentioned the last occurrence was a growl/alert notification. That makes no sense why that would trigger a cleanup/auto sort.

Jun 23, 2015 4:37 PM in response to PenCollectorby babowa,Are you referring to the Growl app? Is the version you are using the latest and/or compatible with your OS version? I don't have it installed, so I don't know if it could cause some instability (that can happen with any third party app).

Jun 23, 2015 6:54 PM in response to PenCollectorby babowa,Well, OS glitches are quite often dealt with by reinstalling; you can use the recovery (Command + R during boot up); it will not remove any files, but it's best to have a backup anyway.
