Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I just purchased the new macbook and a magic mouse. Each time I turn on the computer and mouse, I have to go into system preferences in order to connect the mouse. I would expect it connect automatically once switched on?

Works fine for me. Are you sure you have it configured correctly? What happens if you don't turn off the mouse? When you turn everything on do you try double-clicking the mouse to initiate pairing? Did you pair the mouse initially with the computer via Blue Tooth preferences?
Yes, Kappy. That would have been my first thought. There is no need to turn off the mouse except when you change the batteries. That should apply whether you put your computer to sleep, restart it or shut it down.
