Is there a way to disable AirPlay streaming in specific apps?

For example, if I'm streaming music/video from my iPhone to my Apple TV and switch to the photos app (on my iPhone), I don't want the music/video to stop streaming. I want to prevent the photos app from taking over AirPlay. Is this possible?

(IPhone 6/ iOS 8.3, Apple TV 3 iOS 7)
