Restore Mac from Time Machine

Hello i ve recently moved all my folders and my files from my hd to an external Western digital hd so my mac will operate quicker.

I ve realised that i cannot restore mac: When i do a restart and i press the option key OS X Utilities r not coming up , the only icon is the macintosh icon,Cmd and R doesn't work as well. It looks that i don't have the recovery directory.

macs-mbp:~ macuser$ 2: Apple_HFS Time machine Backups 499.8 GB disk1s2

-bash: 2:: command not found

macs-mbp:~ macuser$

macs-mbp:~ macuser$ No CoreStorage logical volume groups found

-bash: No: command not found

macs-mbp:~ macuser$

i had the 10.6.3 snow leopard operating system I did the upgrade to mavericks 10.9.5 at the apple store at 20/11/2013 . Could u please help me?

Thanks in advance.
