The oldest white MacBook A1181 is too old to run the latest Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. The latest it can run is 10.6.8. Later models (also labelled A1181) have a different processor and different firmware, and may be able to run the latest Mac OS X.

What is needed is more information about your MacBook, such as the MacBook 3,1 designation, or the processor speed, or the year.

Mac OS X installs by booting up a minimal version of the system to be Installed, then using that to Install the full version.

You appear to have failed to Boot up minimal Mac OS X 10.10 Installer (because it cannot be run on your Mac) and are seeing the "Prohibitory sign" instead.
