Q: cant shut down or restart my macbook pro

Hi,

I can't shut down or restart my macbook pro normally. Every time i try to either shut down or restart a black window appears in several languages saying " HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL IT TURNS OFF". Further my mac book takes 10 - 15 mins to restart.
