I have a new Asus TP550 running Windows 8.1. When I plug it in my iPad, the device connects and then regularly disconnects and reconnects at intervals. iTunes reports: ‘iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000084)’.

I have a new Asus TP550 running Windows 8.1.

When I plug it in my iPad, the device connects and then regularly disconnects and reconnects at intervals.

iTunes reports: ‘iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000084)’.

I have the latest drivers for everything and I’ve reinstalled iTunes.

Any advice appreciated.
