Q: Could not purchase "Song". The network connection timed out.

Hello:

Brand new MacPro, Mac OS 10.10, latest iTunes, all updates installed. Apple APBS. ISP is Comcast.  No anti-virus software, No firewall.

When trying to to purchase and download songs from iTunes store we receive this message:

"Could not purchase ~song name~ .  The network connection timed out. " Make sure your network settings are correct and you network connection is active, then try again.

No issues searching the iTunes store. No issues surfing the Internet.  This is very frustrating. Actually having the same issue at two seperate locations that I set up MacPro, both locations connect via Comcast.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), null

    Hello there, rick.

From what you're describing, iTunes seems to not be connecting when you try to make purchases or download songs on iTunes. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting connectivity to the iTunes Store:

Can't connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support

    Before you begin

    1. Make sure that you can access the Internet on your computer or device.
    2. Make sure that your computer meets the iTunes minimum system requirements.
    3. Make sure that your operating system is up to date:
Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose Apple () > Software Update to see if updates are available for your computer.

If you can't connect to the iTunes Store on your Mac, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) might be blocking your access. The steps below might help you fix the issue.

If there's still an issue after you try the steps above, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are turned on for your network.

If there's still an issue, get more help.

Thanks for participating in Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers,

    Pedro.

    Pedro d:

Thank you for your response.  This does not happen all the time,  it's intermittent.  It's a brand new Mac Pro that was  migrated over from an older MacPro tower so it's possible the keychain has issues.  No firewall running, this does not happen using the same iTunes account purchasing via an iPhone just on this MacPro.

I will try the keychain first aid and report back.

    Thank You!

    Rick
