Q: MacMini and password removal

new Mac mini seems to have assigned a password on documents.  I have not done this and cannot find a way of removing it

Help only offers how to CREATE a password but not how to remove.

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.2.x)

What app? What OSX version? You say 10.2.x. Is that correct?

    Yosemite OS X10.10.3

This was installed from new in January 15.

It is very different to the 10.10.8 and I am struggling my way around it.

I am ascertained that iWork cannot copy with reading older documents

Opening, or saving a document come up with this need for a password

I have never used a password on the PC and can only assume there is a default facility in the software

There is an option to SET a password, but no prompt to remove this

What do you mean by "It is very different to the 10.10.8 and I am struggling my way around it."? As yo said the latest public OSX is 10.10.3

Assuming yo have pages what version of Pages do you have?

Is a Pages update available in Mac App Store>Updates?

The new Pages can read old pages but not the other way around.

    The default is no password..

Can you post a screen shot of the error message yoare seeg?
