no charge or connect to itunes

I recently charged my dead iPod classic 128GB to full charge. Now without use it is dead and will not charge now be recognized by iTunes. No, I cannot access the battery. 1st Gen I believe, maybe 2nd. iPod cannot be opened to look inside. It just happened all of a sudden over the past week.

Any help would be great!!
