Q: server name offline unable to send email help

Your problem if it is with the MacBook Pro and Mac OS X 10.7.5 has nothing to do with Classic.     But likely you have the wrong port identified for your e-mail.

Unless your internet access provider, the company you pay to give you access to the internet also gives you the e-mail, your outgoing mail server will need an alternative port such as 587, or 2626, or 2662 and e-mail address and password for authentication to log on the other mail server.  Check with the company providing your e-mail access.
