Sometimes when my iPhone receives a text, it shows up on my watch, sometimes not.

Here's how I have it set now.  My Watch > Messages > Mirror My iPhone.

I'm trying to have all of my texts appear on my Apple watch.

It's a common bug. The next time one doesn't appear on the watch or appears after it appears on the phone go to Settings/Notifications/Messages and toggle off and then on "Allow Notifications". That will reset it to the correct behavior ( for a while ). Oh, and it's the phone's settings not the watch app.

I've tried this with no success at all

No joy here either.   Perhaps my desire to have a text show up on my Apple Watch is unusual.  Hopefully this feature will be available on future revisions.

Notifications go to the device you're using, which may be the iPhone instead of the Apple Watch.

Restarting my phone and/or toggling that setting always fixes it for me.
