Syncing Music - does not look like screenshot

In the Article, in the example for syncing music there is a checkbox for turning on/off syncing music and some options including playlists.

I choose my device, Settings: Summary: Music and I have in the right pane "iTunes Match is On" and one option to Sync voice memos and that

is all.

On another web site, it shows how I can select the Music icon in the top bar, choose a Playlist from the left pane and drag it onto my device listed under Devices. I can select and drag and it shows (70) songs in the playlist, but will not let me drop on the device (it snaps back).

How can I add playlists to my device?

This seems like it should be a common and simple task.

I'm using iTunes 12.1.2.

My device isn't locked while I'm trying to do this.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3, iTunes 12.1.2

Hi C.S.Markham,

What you see in iTunes may be different when you have iTunes Match enabled, as it takes over many of the syncing functions that were previously done directly from iTunes. For more information on iTunes Match, you may find the following articles helpful:
