Q: Airport Extreme to extend a network for 6 zones using the same name
Trying to cover a lot of ground! About 7000 sf.
Cable internet 100 Mhtz internet connection
Cable goes out of modem into cable service provided router into 3 zones
Out of the router into the WAN port of an Airport Extreme base station the network is titled MB the base station Zone 1 is named Closet.
Next Zone 2 : Ethernet is hard wired (signal is hard wired to cable company router and comes out via Ethernet in the bedroom) to a second APE named Bedroom
Next Zone 3: Kitchen Again a cable comes out of the wall from Ethernet which is patched into the cable company router then connects in the kitchen with an airport extreme
Zone 4: Office same set up The office is the furthest away. The Airport Extreme base station is also named MB and comes out through the wall.
The closet zone internet and bedroom are near each other and very fast.
The office signal is terrible. Despite being hard wired and servicing the room with a brand new base station.
Could the problem be that the zones should not have the same name?
Could it be that the option is chosen to extend the network?
Why is the signal slow is the farthest zone away despite being plugged in with Ethernet?
When I tried to bypass the router by plugging in directly from the modem to the Airport Extreme the signal was not connecting.
Thank you for taking the time to help me with this!
