How do I get rid of a frozen screen showing SSL Certificates - sec_error_unknown_issuer

I was entering mint.com but the 'o' wasn't there. I tried to stop the search and it was too late, a full screen of "

SSL Certificates - sec_error_unknown_issuer"

and it wants you to call a phone nunber 1-855-462-1908 to fix the problem. The person who answer speaks very little English and is obviously in a foreign country, just like those that call and say there is a problem with your computer and we need access to fix it. I can not use Safari as I can't get rid of this screen, so I am now stuck using Chrome. Please help how to get rid of this problem with Safari.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 8.3
