Any way to disable the iOS update prompt?

We have some iPads that we use to show conference room calendars in our office. Is there any way we can either:

1) Turn off the iOS update check so it doesn't look to find new updates to iOS

or

2) Turn off the notification prompt that a new update is available when it finds one

We need to test our apps before the updates apply but because it currently does it automatically, anyone can walk by and tap the buttons to install the update which could end up causing problems.

Thanks

Can be a pain, but you block the update site in your router. When you want to update, you unblock. May not be too bad if you get a router for just you conference room and adjust accordingly. Of course, what you want to do is select a version of ios that you want to deply. Once you test out a release it could be that Apple has a new version.

Hopefully, mdm offers a better solution.
