getting help with maps

This is interesting---how do I submit a question to a discussion group about using Apple maps when none is listed on the initial support page?

Ok, I see a tab below:

I used my wife's MBpro to so some searching for locations for a surprise vacation. Today, she accessed maps to get the directions to a new restaurant and lo & behold, she sees all the places I've searched for. Surprise RUINED--thanks Apple...

How do I remove those places I've looked at when I open maps?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), 3.4 GHz Core i7 16GB RAM

Click in the top bar, like a browser bar. select Favorites, then clear out Recents.

An easier solution would be to create separate accounts for the both of you like you should.

Eric,

Here's the problem. I have nothing that shows Clear Recents.

At the top of the window I see: MAPS File Edit View Windows Help

Below that are the 3 colored circles: Red, Yellow & Green with a box that says DIRECTIONS

I can ADD to my FAVORITES under the Edit tab (as well remove from FAVORITES), but nothing shows CLEARING RECENTS

I do have separate accounts and computers for myself and my wife. It was just that I happened to be using her laptop to search for directions

Click on the little magnifying glass in the place where you enter your search/location.

Then click on "Favorites".

Then click on "Recents". After all that you will finally have access to the "Clear" button in the lower right corner.

That is what I just did. I had been searching for info on clearing my IOS map stuff as well when I noticed I could not seem to clear directions on ipad/iphone and when I tried the same on my OS maps, I cleared everything. Should be more intuitive, however.
