I am trying to find a way of letting my Mac mini A1114 load and use new software, and also some security. I have seen that through Boot Camp these Macs can convert to Windows 8 but what type of processor do you need? Mine has a 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo. Is it compatible please, before I purchase Windows? No, you need a 2011 or Mini to run Win 8/8.1 via Boot Camp.

Also, you are struck with Snow Leopard unless you upgrade the processor. If you do that then you can go to Lion

Oh yes, got it, sorry. I will just install a new version of 10.6.8, at least then I can format the hard drive and own the Admin password at last. Then I can hopefully install Adobe reader and Elements. Thanks for your help.
