My OS (10.6.8) is having a lot of problems, and I now have OS Lion in a USB stick as a Disk Image, but if I reboot while holding Option, I don't get any menu from where to choose Disk Utility, as I read online. Can somebody please redirect me to the correct instructions?

You can't start up from a disk image unless you have a computer running Mac OS X Server on your network. Restore the image to an actual partition before proceeding.

Where did the image come from? How was the USB stick made?
What model Mini do you have?

Tone the 2007 and later can go to Lion or later
