MacPro 6 core intel xeon 3.33 ghz not recognizing HGST 6TB hard drive upon restart

Why does MacPro 6 core intel xeon 3.33 ghz not recognize HGST 6TB hard drive upon restart? Will recognize drive if I shut down then start up computer. HGST support says this is a known issue with MacPro computers. Interesting thing is I loaded the same drive into older Mac Pro 2 X 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon running OS X 10.9.5 (same OS X as MacPro 6 core) and the computer recognized the drive when restarting.

Does it mount OK when the system wakes from sleep?

HGST is probably just not interested in trouble-shooting your issue. It can't be an issue with Mac Pros in general, if it works correctly in one of yours. FWIW I have a 6TB HGST in an external enclosure attached to my 2010 Mac Pro, and it doesn't fail to mount on restarts.
