Q: My IPod headphone jack smells like gasoline or something.

My IPod fell off of my bed, and when I picked it up, it started to smell like gasoline. Does this mean it's going to explode if I plug it into the wall to charge it, or if I plug my headphones in? My IPod's battery is soon going to be dead, so I would REALLY like to be able to charge it without the whole "blowing up" thing happening.

iPod touch, iOS 8.3, It can still turn on.

If the iPod works after falling that all is fine. The fall is not the source of the smell.
If concerned make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
