I have a shared folder on every windows computer in my office that we "scan to" from the all in one printer. I would like to be able to have a folder on my macbook that I can scan to. I keep getting and smb error 031-528. Does anyone know how to make this work?? PLEAS PLEASE HELP!
Making a folder in your Macbook is easy: just go to Finder > File > New Folder and an "untitled" folder will appear on your desktop - you can then type in a name.
As to how to get a printer to scan to it - what is the printer model? Is it compatible with Mac OS? Have you added it in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners using the '+' sign which will install any drivers needed?
Ive got it printing wirelessly just fine. I have a shared folder on my desktop. I just can't get it to scan to any of the OS X computers in the office.
the model is dell c3765dnf and it is loaded in "printers and scanners"

As I know absolutely nothing about Dell printers - is there something on the printer which needs to be set up to recognizes your Macbook? Every Epson or Canon printer I've installed needed to be set up on the printer itself along with making sure that it was recognized by the router.
yes. I am the one who has set up everything in the office here. Apparently I am the Real Estate agent/IT guy around here. In fact, I've been doing so much of the networking in this office I've decided to go back to school for IT since I still have GI bill benefits......anyway, I had to input each computers IP address and path in the dell web application. Ive figured everything out for the windows computers but have issues with the macs which leads me to believe its just a communication error.
I have got the same problem. Is there any solution on this problem yet?
Im running an iMac under 10.11.2 and have connected a Dell c3765dnf directly over an ethernet cable to my mac.
Filesharing and printersharing is on.
it always displays me error 031-528, doesn't even matter how i configure the connection.
Has anyone a clue?
