Question

Dell U2412Mb monitor switched to 800x600

While I was working my Dell U2412Mb monitor went black for a few moments and when it came back on it was switched to 800x600 resolution. Nothing was changed on the system recently. Running OS 10.10.3, 13", Mid 2012, 16GB, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB. When I googled the issue a lot of Windows stuff came up about corrupt drivers. Likely issue with the Mac as well? How would I go about dealing with it? Thanks!

I have the same monitor, tho it's mainly for my windows systems. You might try another cable type ie: dvi/vga to see if the video port is at fault. If using it with boot camp: re-install the driver and removing the entry from device manager and re-detecting. Under OSX: As far as I know there are no drivers, dell doesn't officially support macs. Testing with other cables and trying different screen resolutions is likely all you can do under yosemite.
