Upgrade ram of MD101HN/A to 16gb

Hi,


I just want to upgrade ram of my macbook pro md101hn/a. According to apple specification ram for this machine can be upgraded to 8 gb but on few website it is written that it can be upgraded to 16 gb without any problem, so can you please explain if I can upgrade it to 16gb or not if yes than how much will be the performance gain.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Yes, yo can go to 16 GB (2x8 GB) when that Mac was introduced there were no 8 GB chips available so Apple did not list any as being compatible.

Make sure that you get the memory from a place that says it will work in your model Mac since Macs are picky about memory. I am happy with memory from
